“Body as Home in Conflict”
In “Body as Home in Conflict”, Francesca thoroughly questions the interconnection with our bodies/selves in search to dismantle how personal identity is socially constructed and how different realities can have intertwined commonalities. Here, Francesca converses with different minorities (LGBTQ+, BIPOC, disabled people and women) willing to share their life stories and collaborates to make a book and a mixed media collage for each - exemplifying different experiences side by side. Francesca’s main goal is expressing through art the examination of how identities are socially shaped, how we experience conflicts in unique ways and how within these differences we can find something that unites us all. Ultimately, Francesca looks to create a safe space for empathy and resilience in order to be able to build a better community through understanding, healing, empathy and balance.
